Responsibilities: Prepares general repair and maintenance dutiesincluding carpentry, painting, wall vinyl repair, plumbing, and electrical systems. Assists the hotel staff and guests with maintenance needs under the direction of the Director of Engineering or Manager on Duty.
Applicants must be available to work any of the 7 days each week as well as holidays.
|1. Reports to work dressed in proper attire and on time following proper clock in/out procedure as outlined in the employee handbook. |
2. Repairs furniture and structures such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows, countertops, etc.
3. Checks electrical systems such as lighting, audio-visual, and HVAC controls.
4. Checks and makes minor repairs to HVAC systems.
5. Completes daily rounds and documents all areas reviewed as appropriate.
6. Performs Preventive Maintenance in regard to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
7. Generally responsible for hotel safety. Responds to all alarms or emergencies.
8. Turns in a complete notification of all work performed daily.
9. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Engineering, Engineering Supervisor, or Manager on Duty.

Stooping, bending and lifting an average of 75 lbs. will be required.
Must demonstrate effective English communication skills when dealing with hotel guests. English reading skills required for such things as warning labels, safety signs, safety instructions, chemicals, etc.
Minimum 1 year of hotel maintenance (or related field) required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Lifting 75 pounds maximum with frequent bending, lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
MATH SKILLS: Requires mathematical development sufficient to be able to apply fractions, percentages, ratio, and proportion.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must have developed English language skills to the point to be able to communicate effectively (both written and orally) with other employees, guests or vendors as needed. Must be able to read and comprehend written information.
RELATIONSHIPS TO DATA, PEOPLE AND THINGS:
DATA (Coordination): Determination of time, place, and sequence of operations or actions to be taken on the basis of analysis of data, as well as executing determination and/or reporting on events.
PEOPLE (Supervising): Determining or interpreting work procedures for a group of workers, assigning specific duties to them while maintaining harmonious relations among them and promoting efficiency. A variety of responsibilities is involved in this function.
THINGS (Handling): Using body members, hand tools, and/or special devices to work, move, or carry objects or materials. Involves little or no latitude for judgement with regard to attainment of standards or in selecting appropriate tool, object or material.
